October 16, 2006Richard Patrick, formerly of FILTER, spoke to 102.1 The Edge in Dallas on September 28 about drug rehab and his new band, ARMY OF ANYONE. Download and listen at KDGE.com: Part#1, Part#2.
As previously reported, ARMY OF ANYONE — which features Patrick alongside former members of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS — will release a three-song EP via the iTunes store on October 31. For just $.99, music fans can get both the band's first single and video — the riveting and melodically expansive "Goodbye" — along with a special podcast featuring interviews with all of the band members discussing the tracks on the upcoming full-length CD.
ARMY OF ANYONE's self-titled debut album on Firm Music (due November 14) will be distributed by EMI Music in the U.S. and licensed for territories around the globe. This new venture will take the unprecedented step of splitting all profits with the artists signed to the venture rather than the traditional royalty structure.
ARMY OF ANYONE will be the featured guests on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" airing Monday, November 20. The live show begins at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET, and fans are encouraged to call in with questions during the program at (800) 344-ROCK (7625). ARMY OF ANYONE made its live debut on September 20 with a surprise rooftop performance at a restaurant in Minneapolis, Minnesota
The band, which features ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS members Robert DeLeo on bass and Dean DeLeo on guitar in addition to Patrick, began a promotional radio tour on October 4 that will last until the record's arrival.
ARMY OF ANYONE will head out on a full U.S. tour later this fall.
